How Scoring Works
Points are averaged across your 7 picks, then converted to a letter grade. The curve is centered at 50 — hitting expected value is "Middle of the Pack," not failing.
| Grade | Avg Per Pick | Label |
|---|---|---|
| A+ | 85+ | Dynasty Builder |
| A | 75+ | Franchise Cornerstone |
| B+ | 65+ | Playoff Caliber |
| B | 55+ | Solid Foundation |
| C | 45+ | Middle of the Pack |
| D | 35+ | Rebuild Mode |
| F | <35 | Cap Hell Incoming |
The Formula
Each pick is scored against the expected weighted AV (wAV) for that round's slot. Surplus = actual wAV − expected wAV.
Points run on a non-linear curve so extreme hits don't blow past 100 and busts floor at 0:
points = 50 + 50 × tanh(surplus × 0.06)- Surplus = 0 → 50 points (exactly at expected value)
- Surplus > 0 → 51–100 (outperformed)
- Surplus < 0 → 0–49 (underperformed)
Expected values by round: R1 ≈ 16, R2 ≈ 48, R3 ≈ 80, R4 ≈ 112, R5 ≈ 144, R6 ≈ 176, R7 ≈ 220.
